RETURNS/EXCHANGES

Four Horses does not accept returns, as all of the products are handmade to order. Some products come standard with custom measurements to complete at checkout. Above that, all adornments are hand made to order and therefor fully customizable, please reach out to info@fourhorsesshop.com with any requests! Custom sizing, incorporating your own horse's hair, a special stone, etc.

VARIANCE IN MATERIALS & CARE

Crystals naturally vary in color and size. Your piece will bear individual characteristics and will vary slightly from the photograph. Every care is taken to select the closest matches for quality control achievable with natural materials.

Horse hair has a "memory". If your piece has spent some time in shipping and conformed to it's confinement in transit we suggest hanging the piece and allowing gravity to apply it's gentle pressure. This should only apply to the longest hair pieces as packaging has been carefully thought out to accommodate most pieces without driving up costs.

Four Horses is not able to exchange for a different piece based on the perceived characteristics of crystals, horse hair or other natural materials used in the adornments.

Each piece is handmade by myself using natural materials I have sourced. Materials are in their natural state and untreated unless otherwise noted. The ethereal and delicate quality of the materials are a key expression of the concept and slight changes in appearance should be welcome and celebrated. This collection is characterized by oxidized natural brass, horse hair, quartz & selenite crystals. See below for care on each.

BLACKENED BRASS
Due to the oxidation process this finish will remain solid unless scratched by another harder metal so please take care when wearing. If you enjoy the natural wear that comes with this metal finish the peeks of natural brass will add character to these pieces as they age. Perfection is not a part of their creative intent but all pieces are coated with metal protectant to slow the process. If you experience reactions to unusual metals please be wary of investing in the rings as the protective coating will not last long against your genetic makeup and you will see the wear within days rather than years.

HORSE HAIR
Horse hair has been scoured and cleaned and is otherwise in its natural state. Pieces are best stored hanging and as such become artwork when not being worn. As some pieces are longer than packaging, the hair may conform to its container during shipment. Horsehair tends to have a "strong memory". Hang talismans and let them reform naturally with gravity or gently dampen the horsehair with a wet cloth and hang to dry to speed up the process. Once dry it will retain its new shape. Trim any strays over the course of its wear. If larger snags occur please contact me for repair guidance!

CRYSTALS
Crystals are in their raw natural form. This means the selenite will have a tendency to shed and though the stones sourced are AAA quality, they will not be perfect and polished. Care has been taken to rid any loose shards of selenite before sale however any hard impacts could crack or chip these pieces. With care and love the selenite pieces will last a lifetime. Please contact me for guidance in the care of selenite talismans.

LEATHER POLICY
I only use Italian vegetable tanned leather.

  • No animal is killed for its skin. The raw hides used by the local tannery are the discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption. The decline in demand for leather is creating bio-waste that can otherwise be put to use.
  • A vegetable-tanned leather object can be easily disposed of at the end of its life, thanks to its chemical-biological characteristics making it FULLY recyclable unlike faux-leathers which are made mostly of plastics.
  • Vegetable-tanned leather, recognizable from its trademark, does not contain any toxic substance such as azo-dyes, nickel, PCP or chrome VI
  • It is my hope that microbial and fungus alternatives, like Mylo, will be available on a larger market soon. I am constantly researching this and welcome shares to resources as they come on line!
